ShoreDrop Surf: book and pay in one go
ShoreDrop runs private surf lessons (never more than 3 students) and delivers boards and wetsuits around
Ericeira. They needed one place where a visitor on a phone could choose a lesson or a rental, pick a date, add delivery
and pay, without sending five messages first.
Full disclosure: ShoreDrop is the surf school of Rigel's founder. It's our own business, so we
use it to test everything before we offer it to clients. These are the things we built; we don't publish revenue
numbers for it.
What we built
1checkout for lessons, rentals and delivery: the visitor picks, sees the total and pays once.
69payment options set up (Stripe), from a single lesson to a week of rental with delivery.
2languages, Portuguese and English, on every page.
3short videos a day for YouTube and Instagram, made from real surf footage.
The details
- Booking that matches how surf works: lessons by group size and number of sessions; rentals by half day,
day, 3 days or week; delivery and pick-up priced by zone, with the rules (minimum duration for longer routes) built in.
- Book buttons everywhere: in the menu, the hero and a bar that stays on the phone screen.
- Legal done properly: provider details, terms, cancellation and refunds, privacy (GDPR), cookies, the
electronic complaints book and dispute-resolution bodies, as Portuguese law requires.
- Answers before questions: an FAQ on payment, cancellation and delivery, the questions people asked most on WhatsApp.
- Content that keeps coming: a daily pipeline turns surf footage into short clips with on-screen text, so
the social accounts never go quiet.
What this means for your business
The same approach works for a guesthouse, a restaurant or any local business: show what you offer in seconds,
answer the common questions, and let people book (and pay, if you want) from their phone. Prices start at €390, with
50% up front and 50% only after you approve the site.
