Terms and conditions
Last updated: 15 October 2026
1. Scope
These terms apply to Rigel's services: website builds, extras (filming, 360° tour, copywriting, logo, languages) and monthly maintenance plans. Every project has a written proposal; if the proposal says something different from these terms, the proposal prevails.
The provider is identified (name, tax number and address) in every proposal; these details are published on this site when the business is registered.
2. Prices
Website prices are "from" launch prices and serve as a reference. The final price is the one in the accepted proposal, which is fixed for the scope described. VAT is added where applicable. Requests outside the scope are quoted separately before any work is done (reference: €30 per hour).
Not included unless the proposal says so: the domain, third-party tools with a monthly fee, online payment fees, professional photography (except the filming extra) and full online shops.
3. Payments
- 50% when the proposal is accepted, to start.
- 50% on delivery, after you approve the site and before it goes live on your domain.
- Monthly plans: paid monthly in advance.
Every payment comes with an invoice. We only accept payments through the methods stated in the proposal.
4. Timelines
The stated timelines (Essential about 5 working days, Pro 7 to 10 working days, Premium 2 to 3 weeks) start once we receive the content we need (photos, text, logo, access). Delays in sending content or in approvals push delivery back by the same time.
5. Revisions and approval
2 rounds of revisions are included during the build. A round is one list of changes sent at once. Extra rounds are quoted. After launch, for 30 days we fix free of charge any technical error that is ours.
6. Client content
The client guarantees they have the right to use the text, photos, videos, trademarks and data they send us, and that their business's legal information (name, tax number, address, hours, prices) is correct. Stock photos and videos we use are free-licence or licensed for the project.
7. Ownership and accounts
Once paid in full, the site, the files and the content made for the project belong to the client. The domain, the Google profile and the hosting account are always in the client's name. We may mention the project in our portfolio unless the client objects in writing.
8. Monthly plans
The Care (€25/month) and Grow (€59/month) plans have no minimum term. They can be cancelled at any time with 30 days' notice by email. Included hours of changes don't roll over to the next month. On cancellation the site keeps working and still belongs to the client.
9. Liability
We work carefully and measure the quality of every site, but we don't guarantee Google rankings or a number of customers or sales. We are not liable for failures of third-party services (hosting, domain registration, booking or payment systems), but we help solve them.
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for each project is limited to the amount the client paid for that project (for monthly plans, the total paid in the last 12 months), and we are not liable for lost profits or indirect damage. These limits don't apply to wilful misconduct or gross negligence or to damage the law doesn't allow to be limited, and they don't affect consumer rights.
10. Right of withdrawal (consumers)
If you contract as a consumer (for non-business purposes) and the contract is made at a distance, you have 14 days from accepting the proposal to withdraw without giving a reason (Portuguese Decree-Law 24/2014, implementing EU Directive 2011/83/EU). Just send a clear statement to studio@rigelsites.com (you can use the form below). We refund payments within 14 days.
If you expressly ask us to start within that period and then withdraw, you pay only for the work already done. Once the service is fully performed, at your express request and with your acknowledgement that you lose this right, you can no longer withdraw. Clients contracting as a business or professional don't have this right.
To: Rigel, studio@rigelsites.com
I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the following service: […]
Proposal accepted on: […] · Name: […] · Address: […]
Date and signature (only if sent on paper): […]
11. Intellectual property and third-party licences
Our sites use third-party components under free licences (for example, fonts under the SIL Open Font License and libraries under the MIT licence) and, where needed, licensed images and videos. Those licences keep applying; this site's list is on the credits and licences page. The tools and generic code we reuse across projects remain ours, and the client gets a perpetual, free licence to use them on their site.
12. Personal data processed for the client
When we host or maintain a client's site and that site collects people's data (forms, bookings), we act as a processor under Article 28 GDPR: we process that data only on the client's instructions, with confidentiality and appropriate security; we notify the client of any data breach without undue delay; we help answer data subjects' requests; and at the end of the contract we delete or return the data. The full terms are in an agreement attached to the proposal.
13. Force majeure
Neither party is liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond its reasonable control (for example, general internet or supplier outages, disasters or serious illness). Deadlines are suspended while the obstacle lasts.
14. Communications, changes and validity
Communications about the contract, including approvals and change requests, can be made by email and count as written. We may update these terms; each project is governed by the version in force when its proposal was accepted. If any clause is found invalid, the rest remain in force.
15. Complaints and disputes
You can complain directly to studio@rigelsites.com or in the Portuguese Complaints Book. If you are a consumer, you can turn to an alternative dispute resolution body such as CNIACC (Portugal's National Centre for Consumer Arbitration). More information at www.consumidor.gov.pt. Portuguese law applies, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules of your country. With business clients, the courts of the Lisbon West district (Portugal) have jurisdiction; with consumers, the legal rules on jurisdiction that protect them apply.
